WATCH: Pixar Releases Teaser Trailer for ‘Luca’

Early this morning, Pixar Animation studios unveiled a brief trailer for the studio’s upcoming feature film Luca.

The film will be released in the United States on June 18th, 2021.

Luca is described by Pixar as being “a fun and heartwarming story about friendship, stepping out of your comfort zone and two teenage sea monsters who experience a life-changing summer.”

The cast list was also announced along with the trailer.

  • Jacob Tremblay as Luca Paguro, a bright and inventive 13-year-old sea monster
  • Jack Dylan Grazer voices Alberto Scorfano, an independent, free-spirited teenage sea monster
  • Emma Berman as Giulia (befriends Luca and Alberto)
  • Maya Rudolph voices Daniela (Luca’s mother)
  • Marco Barricelli voices Massimo (Giulia’s father)
  • Jim Gaffigan will portray Lorenzo (Luca’s father)

“Set in a beautiful seaside town on the Italian Riviera, Disney and Pixar’s original feature film Luca is a coming-of-age story about one young boy experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides. Luca shares these adventures with his newfound best friend, but all the fun is threatened by a deeply-held secret: they are sea monsters from another world just below the water’s surface.”

Luca is directed by Enrico Casarosa and is produced by Andrea Warren and Pete Docter. It is Pixar’s 24th feature-length film.
